Product Overview
Each cell of this ancient single-celled freshwater microalgae is only 2.8 microns across — about the size of a human red blood cell — and self-sufficient, performing all its functions within itself. Thought to have first appeared some 2 billion years ago, chlorella occurs naturally in freshwater rivers and waterways and is now grown by aquaculture. A litre of it in thin suspension holds over 20 billion cells, and together with other photosynthetic microalgae, it played a role in turning the Earth's early carbon-dioxide-rich atmosphere into the oxygen-rich mix we have today.
This is the Yaeyama Pacifica strain, selected over 40 years ago and grown continuously in a patented outdoor growing system in pristine freshwater pools in Japan. It carries higher levels of chlorophyll, Chlorella Growth Factor (CGF), protein, RNA, DNA and antioxidants than other chlorella, and is free from fillers, binders and artificial additives, at 99.5% chlorella with a small amount of tricalcium phosphate to bind the tablet. This is the 1000 tablet bottle.
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
Caution
When starting, take a smaller amount for the first week, with an adequate intake of pure water. Some new users may not tolerate chlorella well — if you experience stomach upset or nausea, reduce the amount you're taking or stop completely and seek advice from your health care practitioner. If pregnant, breastfeeding or taking medications, always consult your health care practitioner before starting.
A very small percentage of people experience a strong allergic vomiting reaction to chlorella. This is unusual, which is why we suggest starting with a small serve and being cautious during the first week or so. If you have this sort of reaction, stop taking the product — it's not for you. If vomiting is intense or prolonged, seek medical help to avoid dehydration.
