On hair that has begun to grey, plant colours behave differently from chemical ones - they tint the grey rather than covering it flat, which leaves dimension through the hair instead of a solid block. Walnut Shadow is the shade in the range that does this at the brunette end, landing as a deep, earthy chocolate brown with cool undertones.
Four plants make it: Indigofera tinctoria, Lawsonia inermis, Embilica oficialis and Aloe barbadensis. The indigo is what takes the henna's warmth down into brown, and the aloe holds moisture in while the paste sits. There is no ammonia, peroxide, PPD or synthetic fragrance in it.
It suits medium to dark hair. Mix the powder with warm water into a creamy paste, apply evenly to clean, dry hair from roots to ends, cover with a cap and leave two to four hours - longer for a deeper result. Rinse thoroughly and condition well afterwards.
Resistant grey may want a longer processing time or a second application, and it will not lighten hair at all. Patch test 48 hours before you start, and mix only what you will use straight away. Certified organic to Australian standards, made in Australia, vegan, cruelty free and biodegradable.

Storage
Keep sealed in a cool, dry place below 30 °C and away from direct sunlight. Use immediately after mixing.
