What arrives in the box is a full five-part kit, not just a tube of dye: a charcoal pre-wash shampoo to clear the hair first, the 1N colour gel, a colourfix, and a shampoo and conditioner for afterwards. Each step is formulated to work with the others, which is why the colour comes out even.
1N is a true natural black - deep and glossy rather than blue-toned - and it covers grey reliably. The formula is built with over 75% certified organic and natural ingredients, and it is ammonia free, resorcinol free and paraben free, so there is very little odour while it processes.
Organic aloe vera, comfrey leaf and chamomile flower extracts run through the colour gel and the conditioner, with hydrolysed wheat protein, panthenol, shea butter, sweet almond oil, jojoba seed oil and vitamin E across the kit. That conditioning is why hair comes out soft and manageable rather than roughened.
Do a strand and sensitivity test first, then apply to dry hair from roots to ends, leave 30 to 40 minutes and rinse until the water runs clear before finishing with the shampoo and conditioner.
