Product Overview

Dr Thomas Lucas, a Brisbane botanist and medical practitioner, formulated this ointment from papaw (papaya) over 100 years ago, and the recipe has stayed unchanged since. Far North Queensland papaws are hand-selected and fermented in the Brisbane factory using a patented natural fermentation process. Papaw itself is rich in papain and antioxidants, with antibacterial, antiseptic and antimicrobial properties.

Used as a local topical application for

  • Minor burns, sunburn and scalds
  • Gravel rash, cuts and minor open wounds
  • Nappy rash and chaffing
  • Splinters and thorns
  • Temporary relief of the symptoms of dermatitis and eczema

The 25g size is Lucas's most popular format, and is often carried simply as a lip balm, thanks to its soft, buttery texture. It's suitable for the whole family.
