Product Overview
Three plants make this one: Cassia obovata, Lawsonia inermis - henna - and Aloe barbadensis. There is no indigo in the mix, which is exactly why it comes out bright rather than dark. Indigo is what pulls a henna colour towards brown, and without it the copper stays warm and golden-red.
It works best on blonde to light-brown hair, where the pigment reads clearly. On darker hair it will add warmth but not lift it: there is no peroxide or bleach here, so nothing gets lightened.
The powder mixes with warm water into a smooth paste and goes onto clean, dry hair from roots to ends. Cover it with a cap and leave it two to four hours - the longer it sits, the deeper the result - then rinse thoroughly and condition to clear the residue. Mix it fresh; it does not keep once wet.
Because it coats the hair rather than opening the cuticle, it conditions while it colours and leaves the hair soft and glossy. Free from peroxide, ammonia, PPD and synthetic fragrance, so it suits sensitive scalps. Resistant grey wants a longer processing time or a follow-up with indigo. Patch test 48 hours ahead. Australian made, certified organic, vegan, cruelty free and fully biodegradable.
