Plant colour needs a clean starting point. Silicones, styling residue and natural oil all sit between the pigment and the hair, and this bar exists to take them off before you begin - it is the step most people skip and then wonder why the henna took unevenly.
It is a true soap bar: certified organic olive, coconut and sesame oils with cocoa butter, lye, Australian green clay and citric acid. The clay is what gives it the clarifying edge, drawing out build-up without the sulphates that strip a scalp dry.
Wet the bar, work up a lather between your hands and massage it through the scalp and lengths, paying attention to the roots. Rinse thoroughly and towel-dry before you apply the colour. Do not condition afterwards - a conditioner puts back exactly the coating you have just removed.
Being solid, it comes with almost no packaging and lasts considerably longer than a bottle of shampoo. Keep it on a draining dish out of the shower stream between uses and it will hold its shape. It is 100% biodegradable, vegan and cruelty free, free from sulphates, parabens and artificial fragrance, and made in Australia.

Directions
Wet the bar and work into a rich lather between hands. Massage gently into scalp and hair, focusing on roots and lengths. Rinse thoroughly and towel-dry before applying your chosen Desert Shadow Organic Hair Colour. For best results, avoid using conditioner immediately before colouring.
Storage
Store in a dry, cool place away from water between uses. Use a soap dish or rack that allows drainage to extend the bar's life.
