PBCo Low Carb Crumb Original 300g

Chicken schnitzel is what most people buy this for, and it is the test it passes: the crumb goes golden and stays crisp rather than turning to a soft grey jacket by the time the meat is cooked through.

Original is the plain one in the range - a savoury, lightly seasoned crumb with onion, garlic, salt, pepper and PBCo's own herb and spice blend, built on a base of lupin flour and tapioca flour instead of bread. That base is where the carb saving comes from, up to 75% fewer than a regular breadcrumb, and it is also what makes it gluten free and high in protein and fibre.

Being plain beyond the seasoning, it goes with whatever you are cooking. It handles chicken and fish, and holds well on tofu, cauliflower and zucchini, which do not always take a coating easily. Egg wash, press the crumb on firmly, then oven, pan or air fryer.

Directions

Coat your choice of protein or vegetables in egg wash, then press into PBCo Low Carb Crumb until evenly coated. Cook in the oven, pan, or air fryer until golden and crispy.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place below 25 °C. Seal pouch tightly after opening.
