Vrindavan Jamaican Black Castor Oil Unrefined 100ml

Extra dark and unrefined: the castor seeds are roasted and ground before the oil is pressed out, which is what gives this version its colour and a faint, slightly burnt smell from the ash content. It's hexane free, made from premium castor seeds.

Jamaican black castor oil sits at a higher, more alkaline pH than a standard cold-pressed castor oil, which is the main chemical difference between the two. On skin it locks in moisture, soothing dryness and irritation while carrying vitamins, minerals and fatty acids for skin health. On hair, it moisturises a dry or flaky scalp and works into the roots, carrying essential fatty acids and vitamin E to where it's needed.

Apply to skin as a moisturiser at night and wash off in the morning. On hair, massage into the roots and scalp, cover with a shower cap and leave for 30 minutes to 2 hours, or overnight for deeper conditioning. For a hot oil treatment, massage a generous amount through the scalp and hair, cover, and sit under a dryer for 15–30 minutes.
