Product Overview
Desert Shadow Organic Hair Colour Chocolate Shadow 100g is a botanical powder hair dye for a rich, dark natural brown shade. It is a choice for naturally brown or darker hair, or for anyone considering a deeper brunette colour at home. The shade is intended to add dark chocolate tones, rather than lighten hair. Your starting colour, previous colouring and proportion of grey all influence the finished result, so a strand test is an essential part of choosing your shade.
The certified organic formula combines henna, indigo, cassia and aloe vera. These plant ingredients are prepared as a paste before application, giving this colour a different feel and process from a ready-mixed liquid dye. The powder has a naturally earthy, plant-like aroma. It colours while conditioning the hair for a softer, shiny finish, making it appealing to shoppers who prefer a botanical formula and are happy to take time over their home colouring routine.
Allow time for both preparation and processing. The brown shades use two sachets, and the mixing method depends on whether you are covering grey. For grey coverage, Step 1 needs advance activation, while Step 2 is mixed shortly before application. The product's processing guide allows at least one hour for non-grey hair and two to three hours for grey coverage. Keep the applied paste moist and follow the instructions supplied with your pack. Resistant grey or very light hair may need additional preparation or a Red Shadow or Copper Shadow base; test the result before a full application.
One 100g pack is generally enough for medium-length hair. Short hair or a root touch-up may use about half a pack, while long, very long or thick hair needs more. When dividing a pack, weigh both sachets separately and keep their original proportions. Repeated applications can make the colour richer and darker; once the lengths reach your preferred shade, concentrate on regrowth and refresh the lengths occasionally. As botanical colour can remain in the hair, this shade is not recommended if you plan to bleach or lighten your hair blonde later.
