Gum turpentine — a solvent obtained by the distillation of resin from trees, mainly pines — is the traditional base of this furniture polish, backed by dimethicone, a skin-conditioning emollient derived from silica that also helps the polish glide and lubricate the surface. Cetyl/oleyl alcohol ethoxylates work as an emulsifier, with water, paraffin oil and an essential oil based fragrance rounding out the formula.
It's a specific-task surface-care product rather than a general everyday spray, for timber and furniture rather than benches or glass. The 500ml size is easy to keep in a laundry, kitchen cupboard, bathroom cabinet or cleaning caddy for regular use.
