It comes in a tube rather than a jar or tin — squeeze it in as you cook, with no spoon needed and nothing left to spoil once the jar's been opened a week too long. A thick, concentrated paste of organically grown Italian tomatoes, nothing else in it.

Add this early in your cooking, before the water, broth or canned tomatoes go in, and it has a chance to caramelise and build flavour rather than just thinning out. It's also good spread thinly over a pizza base before topping.
