Ways to use it

Add 2 heaped teaspoons (10 g) to 200-300 mL water, stir well and drink during or immediately after exercising once daily.

How does Clean Recovery work to help me recover from exercise?

Clean recovery is a multidimensional recovery product that will support your recovery from all angles. It combines ingredients that are designed to support metabolic pathways that are involved in recovery from exercise and physical exertion so that you bounce back and get the most out of each workout.

BCAA’s and L-Glutamine provide the body with an immediate bioavailable source of Amino Acids for muscle recovery.

Magnesium and Calcium are electrolytes, helping the body to rehydrate whilst also supporting pH balance of the body, nerve and muscle function, energy metabolism, bone structure and protein synthesis.

B vitamins support liver function, fat metabolism, hormone regulation, protein synthesis and energy.

Are the levels of BCAAs high enough to support recovery?

Yes, they are!

Our clean active range is all about providing products that support and complement your healthy, varied, whole diet.  The level of BCAAs included in our Clean Recovery is ideal, as it does provide that immediate bioavailable source of BCAAs to support your recovery without going to excess.

Studies have demonstrated that BCAAs can help to increase muscle protein synthesis. In one study, people who consumed a drink containing BCAAs after their resistance workout had a 22% greater increase in muscle protein synthesis compared to those who consumed a placebo drink.  Having said that, this increase in muscle protein synthesis was about 50% less than what was observed in other studies where people consumed a complete protein food containing a similar amount of BCAAs. So, although BCAAs are beneficial post-workout, they do not compare to or take the place of complete protein sources in a healthy varied diet.

This is also the reason that FSANZ (Food Standards Australia New Zealand) has set the maximum level of BCAAs allowed in Formulated Supplementary Sports Foods to this level.

Where do the Nitrates come from?

The Nitrates present in Clean Recovery are naturally occurring compounds from beetroot. Nitrates are compounds that have positive associations with physical performance and blood oxygenation.
